Puppies, Getting Dressed & Commercials...oh my!

Our good friend Gayle called one day and asked if Kambell could be in a canal safety commercial with her. Sure, why not right? Well Kambell wasn't as excited about it as I was. It took some bribing to get her to agree... a little ice cream and a day out with mom did the trick. She just had to stand there, but it was pretty thrilling for us to see the finished product. Stay tuned to Channel 7 (NBC) between the hours of 9am & 4pm from now through August.
This morning I got in the shower and then I heard the pitter-patter of little feet coming my way. Kambell and Kinlee decided to join me. So I soaped them up, rinsed them off and sent them on their way while I finished up. To my surprise they were "dressed" and their hair was "done" when I got out of the shower. They were so proud. Kinlee said to me "Mama, do I look great?" It was so cute. I'm glad they are finally taking interest in dressing them self. I was concerned that they would forever wait for me to set out their clothes and then beg them to get dressed in the morning. As you can see Kambell chose her sparkly shirt from her clogging recital.
We have a new addition to our family. This is Suzie. She has brought great joy to our house and a little mischief, too. We will need to replace our screen door and a couple pairs of flip flops...maybe fill in some holes in the yard and garden...but overall she is such a good little puppy. She was given to us by "Teacher Erica," Kambell's preschool teacher. She gets hauled around by the girls often. She's learning to be very tolerant!
Now if I could just train Kasey to keep her outside :o)

Taylor Swift Concert

When I received an email to buy tickets for the Taylor Swift concert online...a day early- I knew I couldn't pass that up. Kambell & Kinlee adore her. You should see them "sing" her songs. Kambell's got the lyrics down pretty good, and Kinlee ...well Kinlee thinks she does. It's cute. And the concert was a blast. Taylor Swift is so energetic and enthusiastic. The crowd loved her.

Posing infront of Taylor's awesome tour bus.

Kambell was belting it out with Kellie Pickler.

During pottybreak #3: The first band, Glorianna, was signing autographs in the lobby. The line was a mile long. Kinlee and I weaved through to get to the bathroom (fast) and when we came back out the band was finally getting to their table to meet and greet. The 4 bandmembers noticed Kinlee and were waving and saying hi. She could have cared less, but I thought it was pretty neat. One of the guys proceeded to wave her over to him and he gave her a guitar pick. But Kinlee's highlight of the entire night: she got to have a pkg of licorice!

That licorice I was talking about...

"Love Story" performance...our favorite. Notice all the dancers below.

One of her many many costume changes.

Kambell was really getting into it with the crowd.
We topped the night off with a stop at McDonald's. The girls had a great time!

Busy Busy

Kambell's last day of Preschool with Teacher Erica was last week.
She sang songs and danced with their sticks at the final program.
She is already very excited for next year.

at the cabin over Mother's Day.

Kinlee & Kasey taking a break from fishing.

We decided to plant a garden along with our neighbors.
Here is our first day of planting.

Open Door

I've always wanted to be that house in town that had an open door to everyone. I've admired those parents that let their kids always have friends over to play, to eat, to study. But there is just something in my make up that has prevented me from being open to this idea. I guess I'm always worried about my house being clean enough, toting kids around in my car, etc. Well Kasey has let me know that none of that is a worry and so we've had an open door for some time now. I've enjoyed every moment of it. Kambell and Kinlee have loved it the most. They just love to have playmates and cousins and friends over. They are so great at entertaining and playing and sharing...well most of the time. Here are some cute moments.

An early Spring hot dog roast.

So if you or your children want to come over one afternoon...our door will be open.

Our Easter Activities

Start at the bottom, I uploaded the pics in the wrong order...one of these days I'll learn how to blog correctly :o)

Kambell couldn't climb high enough or go far enough down stream...she loved exploring.

We headed to Succor Creek Sunday afternoon to see the sights and roast some hot dogs. Grandma thought the girls should partake in some boulder hopping in the creek.

She loved the Laffy Taffy ...can you tell by her teeth?

Kinlee was ready for her big moment and she collected her 3 eggs. Homedale needs to step up with the Easter Eggs for next year!!!

Kambell thought she hit the jackpot and that she was an expert at egg hunting now. So poor Kinlee got several lessons.

Here are Kambell, some of her classmates and Kinlee (she loves her sunglasses).

Kambell colored Easter Eggs for her preschool egg hunt. She was quite proud...can you tell?

Playing at the Park

Recently the Homedale Park got a new piece of equipment. Whenever we went into town the girls would beg to go play on the new slides and swings. So I decided we'd stop by and try it out. We ended up loving it so much that we've been there twice this week. The first time we tried it out with our neighbor Emma. The second time Kinlee decided she'd go as "rock star Kinlee."

Brandin'

We were lucky enough to be invited to help our friends brand calves in Arock, Oregon over the weekend. The weather was...perfect for our last Spring Break outing. Kambell and Kinlee loved every minute of being outdoors and around the kids and calves. We were fed a feast and enjoyed our time with friends.
